Samhuinn reimagines ancient Celtic traditions through modern performance, telling of the struggle between Summer and Winter, light and dark. On Calton Hill, you’ll find drummers, acrobats, performers, and a cavalcade of mysterious characters amidst the transformative fires of Samhuinn.

Performing Magic in the Pre-Modern North Conference 2026

This years conference explores any aspect of magical belief, practice, representation, or experience in the pre-modern Nordic and North Atlantic worlds (including Scotland). Particular attention will be paid to something lived, practiced, performed, transmitted, or contested within specific social, cultural, and historical contexts.

This conference is a Covenant that aims to be a gathering for anyone interested in Occult, Folk, Magical, Spirit, the Ancestral heritage, and the Sacred in Alba.
It is an invitation to the Occult, Folk, and Magical communities in Scotland, as well as to local organisations wishing to share with the organisers!
The conference is a non-denominational event open to anyone from any spiritual background, making it the first Interfaith Event of this kind in Scotland.
